Uno de nuestros observadores informó que con semejante noche los comunistas han bajado la guardia y están preparando las carpas para dormir fuera de los tanques. De ser así, podrán guiarse por el resplandor de sus faroles. Tómenlos como referencia, acerquense y esperen a distinguir a los tanques antes de lanzar.
De ser necesario, utilicen las bengalas de los Neptune para iluminar el blanco.
Hagan la cantidad de vuelos que consideren necesarios, el objetivo es seguir disminuyendo su potencial antes de que puedan retomar la ofensiva.

Despego del aerodromo de la ROCAF con rumbo a Fan-She, en misión de bombardeo, volábamos a unos 900/1000 metros debajo de las nubes, cuando apagábamos luces de navegación al poco tiempo de despegar era impresionante el paisaje, los aviones recortados contra las nubes con cada relámpago, pasando Ma-Tsu se venía la montaña de unos 900 metros, pasamos entre las nubes y la montaña iluminada por los rayos, el avión sacudiéndose como una coctelera y rebelándose a mantener un rumbo fijo, hasta el final del recorrido, divisar las luces del objetivo, realmente un escenario sobrecogedor, por un momento olvidé que estábamos en guerra. Los aterrizajes, párrafo aparte, había tanto viento arrachado que era imposible meter el A-26 con flaps landing, hubo que encarar con velocidad y flaps en take off hasta cerca de 20 metros donde ponía todas las chapas, en una de las 4 misiones que volé, creo que la segunda, tuve que volverme por que me agujerearon los tanques no sin antes destruir un blindado, al volver me pasé un poco al sur de la base por suerte logré ubicarme y encontrar la pista.
Volé las 4 misiones hacia el objetivo, regresando en las 4 misiones. No detallo cada una porque fueron muy similares. La cuarta misión se hizo ya con menos pilotos, creo que Castor, Chape y yo, los demás algunos heridos y otros agotados por tantas horas de lucha con el clima y los chinos.
El bombardeo se me hizo dificultoso por la escasa visibilidad, no obstante en cada vuelo excepto en el segundo, traté de aprovechar al máximo mis posibilidades y me guié por las trazadoras y reflectores para atacar la AA y así minimizar los riezgos de la incursión.

Me encuentro cómodamente en mi escritorio, rutinario como cada día. Las labores del estado mayor son así, uno se destaca y es llamado a ocupar un asiento donde al final, toda la experiencia, se pierde entre papeles.
Ya varias veces plantié mi regreso a piloto activo, pero cada propuesta fue denegada con un ¨Ud es más valioso aquí, ya no es joven como antes.....¨.
Mi indignación era proporcional, y para mis adentro decía ¨viejo son los trapos...¨
Veía los reportes con las novedades del despliegue de nuestras fuerzas, y una envidia recorría mis venas, sí, extrañaba esas épocas de calzarme mi traje de vuelo, y sentir la adrenalina del combate.
No encontraba la respuesta, ¿Cómo volver al servicio activo?, tomé mi máquina de escribir, le coloqué una hoja, una sola palabra ocupaba la carilla; ¨Renuncio¨.
Coloqué el papel en un sobre y lo dejé en el despacho de estado mayor, tomé mis cosas y me fui a mi casa.
A medio camino de mi hogar me cruza otro vehículo oficial y me indican que me detenga, conocía al sujeto, por lo que no desconfié, aminoré y pregunté que pasaba.
¨YA, VUELVA A SU OFICINA Y PRESENTESÉ CON SU SUPERIOR¨.
El tono de voz, la postura, y lo directo que fue sabía que mi nota había causado efecto.
Doy la vuelta y regreso por donde vine, entro nuevamente a mi oficina, esta ves no estaba vacía, había varias personas de cargo, que sumadas las tiras, eran más que una cebra!!, me presenté educadamente ante ellos. Un ayudante cerró la puerta.
No voy a contar lo que se dijo adentro, solo el final, justo lo que yo quería cuando se me preguntó: ¨Ud, qué quiere?¨
No me costó decir que quería volver al servicio activo y estar listo para el combate.
Otra ves se escuchó de todo, me mantuve en mi tesitura, era a todo o nada.
Una hora después al ver mi inquebrantable postura, se me permitió un despliegue parcial, pero que iba a estar condicionado a mis actitudes de vuelo y pericia de combate, me reí al escuchar eso, sentía un chiste esas palabras, ¨pan comido¨ me dije.
El tiempo me diría que no me tendría que haber reído nada.

Llego a la base en servicio, mis compañeros ya partieron en una misión.
Me piden que espere a que regresen, ya que esa noche, se iban a realizar varias.
Eso me da tiempo a revisar mi avión, buscon mi Corsair, pero solo veo A-26´s...
Pregunto por mi venerable y viejo amigo, y solo veo risas.
Miro a mi alrededor, veo la noche cubierta, y con tormenta, ¨Vamos a salir así¨, dije.
¨Así es¨, me contestaron... ahí empecé a recordar las palabras de mis superiores....

Me pusieron al tanto de los acontecimientos, y los detalles de la misión.

1º vuelo:

Algunas consideraciones:
En el primer vuelo, al hacer mis pasadas de bombardeo, notaba que no pasaba nada, supuse que ya los blancos habían sido destruidos, pero no vi resplandores tampoco.
A medio camino de regreso a la base, vagamente recuerdo de un mod que para lanzar bombas había que abrir compuertas de bombas, hago las consultas con el resto del grupo de vuelo, y me dan algunas indicaciones, configuro teclas, y sí, efectivamente el pack GAE trae ese mod como estandar. Tuve que tirar las bombas a la nada.
En el segundo vuelo, se me cortó la conex justo en básica para final de aterrizaje, igual mi simulador siguió hasta que aterricé, y cuando taxeaba, recién ahí me cortó, por lo que tomo que aterricé normal.

En mi primer vuelo salgo con neptune, para iluminar la zona, como no logro pegar en mis pasada desisto de mis otros 2 vuelos y salgo con A26

La iluminacion con las bengalas no resultaron muy utiles ya que con las luces de los campamentos era mas que suficiente para el ataque.

Los vuelos se hicieron coordinados y bien desarrollados, en mis dos ultimos vuelos pude pegar.

Pongo en marcha mi aeronave y rodando por taxi cometo un error imperdonable, metiendome en la nube de tierra generada por el avion que me precede, sumado a la oscuridad, colisiono con el Tte. Mano, dañando la punta del ala derecha vuelvo al hangar para dejar la nave en reparacion.

Decolo como lider de la 1° incurcion, llegando a Fan-she ubico a los tanques iluminados por las bengalas del neptune antes de atacarlos decido reducir una AAA, luego destruyo un tanque.
Cuando estamos todos vacios tomamos rumbo 220 para volver a la base subiendo a 900 mts donde la turbulencia era menor.
Llegando a la pista, ya en final, mucho viento cruzado me saca del rumbo haciendome ladear en el aterrizaje y mi avion se estrella en la aproximacion.

Salgo como numeral del 2° vuelo liderado por Pepper , una vez en el aire ponemos rumbo 40 directo a Fan-She y subimos a 900 metros para sobrepasar una colina que antecede a la ciudad, llegando al objetivo recibo la orden de enganchar los objetivos terrestres.
Ataco a la AAA destruyendola.
Vuelvo y aterrizo sin novedad.

Sin siquiera llegar a cruzar el rio de Fan-She...un francotirador me da en la cabeza y fallesco instantaneamente.

Decolo en primer incurcion como numeral 4, al llegar a la zona de ataque por desperfectos tecnicos no puedo ver las bengalas y se me hace imposible maniobrar contra los tanques.
En mi primer pasada destruyo 1 tanque, y en mi segunda pasada al solar no logro recuperar el avion ya que estaba demaciado bajo por no ver nada.
Por este motivo decido no seguir con las misiones.
