Reunión rápida en cubierta

A partir de este momento, se extreman las medidas de seguridad para con la FT Argentina. Es imperativo salvaguardar el material, desconocemos el porque del ataque a una aeronave argentina, pero es de sencilla percepción, interpretar que estamos en riesgo de ser atacados.

Se ha desplegado un muro al norte, por posible intentos de rastreo de la flota, dado al último suceso en el que fuimos atacados, desde el Norte no deberíamos tener mayores noticias, pero definitivamente debemos actuar con el submarino que fue averiado por la 1º de Ataque en la salida anterior.

El último dato que tenemos es que se sumó a un convoy de cargueros y mercantes, para usarlos de escudo, ya que no puede sumergirse. La 1º de Ataque deberá enhebrar sus bombas sobre ese SUB. Un spotter a determinado que desde el Oeste se acercan refuerzos para custodiar el convoy enemigo. Tenemos aproximadamente una hora o menos para su encuentro definitivo.

Para localizar el convoy debemos hacer WP sobre el HMS "Eagle" CV y luego tomar 315º (+/-) durante unos 30Km.

Las dos escuadras poseen todo el material disponible, recordamos que no poseemos cohetes ni bombas de 1000.

Sería importante si lográramos reducir los refuerzos que se acercan al convoy.

1er Vuelo

F9F2 Panther - 80% Fuel + armamento default

Despego del V2 como elemento de la 2 Escuadrilla de Caza liderada por el CF Balker e integrada por el TN Chape, el TF Alma, el TC Popeye y el GU Pato, en misión de escolta de la I Escuadrilla de Ataque. Tras formarnos en dos secciones en paralelo, la mía liderada por Alma, y secundada por Popeye, nos dirigimos hacia nuestro WP, el portaviones HMS Eagle, y desde allí ponemos rumbo 315 a la zona del convoy en apoyo de las unidades de bombardeo.
A poco de llegar nos enfrentamos con aviones enemigos. En la pelea alcanzo a tocar y derribar a un Spitfire que se aleja dejando tras de sí una larga estela de humo negro. Pasado este primer momento de lucha me entero de la avería en el avión del CF Balker que se encuentra inutilizado de utilizar el sistema Beacon de navegación. Asumo entonces la guía de su aeronave hasta nuestra FT y se nos suma el TC Popeye.
Al llegar a destino veo con alegría que tanto Balker como Popeye logran apontar con éxito, no así mi avión que se estrella contra la popa del portaviones.

2do Vuelo

F9F2 Panther - 80% Fuel + armamento default

Despegamos con el TC Popeye nuevamente hacia la zona del convoy donde Alma y Chape combatían fieramente contra unidades enemigas. Sin embargo no logramos ensamblarnos en formación y llegamos al sitio separados y vulnerables.
Tras sobrevolar la zona tratando de reunirnos y sin encontrar aviones enemigos, al menos de mi parte, decidimos el regreso hacia el portaviones inglés como primer WP, Popeye con problemas en su avión que lo obligan a intentar un anavizaje en la nave británica al no poder llegar al V2. Yo lo espero sobrevolando el navío para apoyarlo en caso de un ataque de cazas que no se produce y veo cómo ameriza salvando su vida. Ante esta situación pongo proa en solitario al V2, al que arribo y aponto sin novedad.

Decolo como líder de Ataque, Alpha1, con Cuervo como A2 y Charrúa como A3.

Sin grandes problemas de navegación, llegamos sobre nuestro primer punto de refencia, un CVE inglés. Tomando rumbo 315º, encontramos el convoy, en cuyo centro se encuentra el submarino australiano que intenta huir.

Entro en primer lugar, intento un bombardeo en 45º pero erro con mis bombas de 500 lbs., siendo impactado en un ala con graves daños.

Luego de la primera pasada de mis compañeros, encaro para entrar de nuevo y soltar todo de una, pero la AAA o las averías del ala derecha hace que la pierda y en un medio tonel, me estrello en el mar.

Los problemas técnicos hacen que deba partir sólo con Charrúa, debido a la caída al mar de Cuervo.

Guiado por del beacon del CVE, nos tropezamos sorpresivamente en el camino con el convoy australiano y el submarino averiado, al que se le habían reunido tres destructores especializados en la defensa AAA.

No vacilo y le aviso a Charrúa que entro de una, me plancho y comienza la AAA a encuadrarme. Balanceo mi avión en un zigzageo violento para desencuadrarme, de tal manera que enderezo un breve instante, encuadro al submarino y dejo que las centrífugas se estabilizen, lanzo toda la carga de cuatro bombas de una y viro alejándome antes de estar cerca del sumergible.

Alcanzado por las bombas, estalla y se hunde.

Con Charrúa con carga completa, evaluamos a los destructores que se sumaran a la formación. Al abrir fuego en nuestra contra, se transforman en objetivos. Decidimos que Charrúa ataque, pero lo precedo para distraer la AAA, plan que resulta sin problemas.

Casi sin oposición AAA, Charrúa lanza limpio y un destructor tocado por sus bombas escora y se hunde.

Sin escolta visible de nuestros cazas, nos volvemos a la FT propia, donde apontamos sin problemas.

Panther - Default - 80% jugo

Salgo de líder de la cobertura de caza. Somos dos elementos en formación paralela. Por un lado, Chape, Pato y yo y por el otro Alma, Falcon y Popeye. Nos adelantamos a la formación de Ataque. Chape nos hace de navegante y va tirando los rumbos hasta llegar sobre la vertical de la flota enemiga. En un momento veo a mis 11 a 3 o 4 contactos enemigos. Me abro por izquierda y le pido a Alma que continúe su rumbo. Maniobramos para dejar a los contactos en el medio de los dos elementos. Cuando veo que siguen al vuelo de Alma les busco las 6 y todos entramos en combate. Derribo un pistonero enemigo en la primera aproximación y luego, avanzado el combate, a un líder y su elemento. Durante el combate debo haber dejado sobrecalentar mi turbina porque noto que empiezo a perder potencia. Sin poder captar los rumbos del beacon, le pido a Falcon que me guíe a casa. Trato de seguirlo mientras noto como cae la potencia y me pregunto si llegaré a nuestra FT. Con los portas a la vista, me mando en final, pero no logro aproximaciones limpias. Aborto dos veces y cuando creo que la turbina ya está a punto de morir, logro apontar. Me bajo de mi querido Panther y me voy a la Isla.

  Pusimos rumbo 240 navegando con radioayuda hasta llegar al navío británico utilizado como punto de referencia, en donde viramos a 315, rumbo al área del objetivo.

  Encontramos contactos aéreos pistoleros y al trabarnos en combate, me mantuve alto a 3000 intentando posicionarme pero no logré trabar combate. Puse el rumbo inverso y regresé sin novedad.

  Decolé como líder, secundado por Falcon, emprendiendo el mismo rumbo que en la salida anterior.

  Al arribar al convoy en donde se había reportado combate y presencia de jets, hice un circuito de espera hasta que Falcon llegó al área, pero el numeral me advirtió que un contacto se lanzaba a mis 6 y fui averiado antes de poder reaccionar.

  Emprendí la retirada averiado, planchado, hasta que el oponente me soltó y americé a 500m de lo que parece ser un vetusto portaaviones de bandera británica. Fui rescatado por la tripulación y tratado bien, practiqué Inglés para rendir el First Certificate, me convidaron grog  y me enseñaron a cantar ?Heart of oak?, mientras esperaba ser reembarcado en un buque argentino.

Salgo con Ceteu con la intención mandar al fondo ese maldito submarino, llegamos a la zona, y divisamos el objetivo, nos lanzamos, tomo distancia para conservar  la carga si hunde el sub Ceteu, lo logra tomo altura y nos dirigimos a la escolta, divisamos y Ceteu hace de señuelo yo entro casi sin ser detectado hasta ultimo momento pero la suerte de ese buque esta echada, mis bombas hacen estragos en la estructura del buque y va al fondo.

Regresamos sin inconveniente con la misión cumplida y el a ver vengado a nuestro camarada Falk.

1º Vuelo:

En formación con Balker y Chape salimos con rumbo a la flota enemiga. Se avistan contactos enemigos y entablamos combate contra ellos. En un determinado momento debo separarme de Chape quedando a las 6 de un avión enemigo que le estaba entrando a Balker, realizo ráfagas cortas para tratar de alejarlo, ya que la distancia y el ángulo no me dejaban hacer un tiro certero. Finalmente el contacto baja repentinamente la velocidad y y al confundir los botones bajo el tren de aterrizaje cuando en realidad quería desplegar los aerofrenos, rompiéndose y quedando solo el tren de la nariz. Finalizado el combate regresamos al portaaviones donde aponto (sin tren) tranquilamente.

Soy wingman y navegante del Lider Balker, nos dirijo hasta el Eagle donde ponemos 315 para localizar el convoy. Alli divisamos varios contactos pistoneros a los que nos vemos obligados a atacar, yo intento mantenerme a las 6 del Jefe pero soy derribado.

Desde el V2 junto a Alma para el convoy, nos reunimos sobre el CVE para luego colocar 315, tras varios minutos sobre el convoy me alcanza una flak que me deja sin mira, me mantengo para no abandonar a el Teniente Alma, hasta la llegada al sector de varios Aermacchi MB-326H, alli entablamos conbate hasta que el Teniente es derribado. Yo me posiciono en ventaja en varias oportunidades, pero mi mira destruida me juega en contra. Me voy con heading del NDB hacia el Eagle al encuentro de Falcon y Popeye, pero el mal estado del reactor me hace tomar rumbo a la FT. en camino de regreso lo CAC Aermacchi MB-326H me alcanzan y derriban.
