Transavia PL-12 Airtruk

Acertaste

History

The Airtruk and Skyfarmer owe their origins to New Zealand's first commercial aircraft, the Waitomo Airtruck.

The original Waitomo Airtruck was designed by Luigi Pellarini in the mid 1950s, and used a number of components from the North American T6 Texan/Harvard series of piston engine military advanced trainers. These components included main undercarriage wheels, the front undercarriage assembly, fuel tanks and the 410kW (550hp) Pratt & Whitney R1340 radial piston engine. The Airtruck also featured a fairly tall and squat fuselage that accommodated a pilot, two passengers and a chemical hopper, tricycle undercarriage, a high mounted wing and boom mounted twin tails. The unusual twin tail configuration was adopted as it solved the problem of chemicals contaminating the rear fuselage, while it also allowed easier loading of the chemical hopper. The Airtruck first flew on August 2 1960.

The Airtruck was not built in New Zealand, and instead was further developed in Australia by Transavia as the PL12 Airtruk. The Airtruk differed from the Airtruck in having a flat six Continental engine and additional lower stub wings. It was delivered from December 1966.

The PL12U utility seats five and has the chemical tank deleted. It was delivered from 1971. The T300 and T300A Skyfarmers are improved developments of the PL12 with a Textron Lycoming IO540 engine; the T300 first flew in July 1971, the T300A, which introduced aerodynamic improvements, first flew in 1981. The final development was the 300kW (400hp) flat eight IO720 powered T400, four were delivered to China. Production ceased in 1993.

el anterior sin resolver era el Let L200 Morava.

The Let L200 Morava retractable four seat light twin was one of the few light aircraft to be exported from behind the Iron Curtain during the Cold War era, albeit in small numbers.

Ladislav Smrek of the Czechoslovakian State Aircraft Factory designed the L200 in the mid 1950s to develop a replacement for the early postwar vintage Aero 45 and 145 light twins. His resulting design is similar in many ways to its contemporary western twins, with a four or five place cabin, a low wing, wingtip tanks, metal construction and retractable undercarriage. However the Morava is distinguishable by its twin tails, standard thermal wing deicing equipment and inverted inline engines.

The prototype XL-200 Morava flew for the first time on April 8 1957. The XL200 prototype and a series of preproduction L200s were powered by 120kW (160hp) Walter Minor 6III inline sixes. Initial production was of the L200A, which differed from the L200 in being powered by two 155kW (210hp) fuel injected M337s, and had greater weights, a reprofiled cabin and hydraulically (rather than electrically) operated undercarriage and flaps.

Let built 160 L200s before production switched to the improved L200D. Features include a strengthened undercarriage, improved hydraulic and electrical systems and constant speed three blade propellers. The L200D remained in production until 1969, and a number were licence built in Slovenia (then part of Yugoslavia). A turboprop powered development was studied but not built.

Most L200 production was for customers within the Soviet Bloc - Aeroflot for example operated several hundred in a range of roles including air taxi, air ambulance and communications duties. However small numbers were exported to western Europe, the USA and other Western countries.

Aqui les dejo uno facil, hasta particip? de una trilog?a de pel?culas "aeron?uticas" clase B (B-) :P
