En este d?a la actividad ser? intensa y variada.

1- Tenemos una solicitud de cubrir las vacantes de dos tripulaciones CAT para C-25J (?sta es la nueva denominaci?n para la versi?n transporte) los que saldr?n de la  Base Cam Ranh.

Se ha establecido una base de fuego y centro de operaciones del ARVN en el sector Alfa Zulu 22. Desde all? patrullas de infanter?a realizan batidas Search & Destroy a lo largo de la frontera con Laos. Debido al esfuerzo log?stico que requieren los 2500 hombres que operan all? se ha delimitado un campo de aterrizaje que linda con la localidad. El sentido de aterrizaje es desde el lago hacia el poblado, teniendo as? pendiente positiva lo que reduce la carrera de aterrizaje. Los C-25J deber?n llegar hasta la l?nea de refugios lindera al pueblo y all? efectuar la descarga y aguardar a que las ambulancias traigan heridos cr?ticos. De m?s est? decir que el regreso a Cam Ranh deber? ser especialmente r?pido.

2- Una secci?n de F4U se adelantar? a los CAT siguiendo su misma ruta patrullando a 500 mts en busca de cualquier amenaza. Una vez llegados a Alfa Zulu 22 orbitar?n all? hasta la partida de los CAT y proseguir?n en su mismo curso hasta que estos alcancen la l?nea de costa. Una vez hecho esto podr?n retornar directamente a Cam Ranh. Deber?n estar atentos a cualquier requerimiento que se les pueda hacer.


3- Desde el V-1 partir? una secci?n de F4U en Misi?n Guardacosta. Esto es, patrullar las costas y la desembocadura de los principales r?os en Aguas del Mar de China Meridional. Lo har?n de Sur a Norte hasta alcanzar Bravo Eco 26 desde donde emprender?n el retorno directo al V1. La altura para todo el patrullaje ser? de 500 mts y el retorno se har? con 3000 mts para economizar combustible.

IMPORTANTE!: Las reglas de combate para la patrulla Guardacostas es verificar visualmente todos los nav?os que encuentre y solo hacer fuego sobre aquellos que muestren a las claras una actitud hostil o evasiva. El tr?fico mar?timo y fluvial "legal" es importante y no queremos hechar a pique un zampan cargado de pescado.

Un T-6 despegar? de Cam Ranh para oficiar de plataforma a?rea de Comando y Control.

Relato de la Patrulla Marina:

Salimos con el TN Flak como lider para patrulla del litoral mar?timo hasta la frontera con Vietnam del Norte. Primeros minutos sin contacto alguno. A las 09.49 se divisa pesquero que hace fuego con AAA. Mientras el TN Flak distrae el fuego entro con las bombas de 500 lbs para skip-bombing pero quedan cortas. Cambio de roles y el TN impacta hundiendo el objetivo. No se divisan balsas salvavidas.
Continuamos patrulla. Se divisa contacto amigo. Sin novedad hasta frontera. En el lugar nos hace fuego una lancha patrullera enemiga. Entro con cohetes y a la tercer pasada logro hundirlo. 10.03. Tampoco se distinguen sobrevivientes. recibo impactos de AAA liviana y tengo p?rdidas de combustible. El TN Flak se destaca a AZ 22 y yo pongo rumbo al V1. Por datos confusos del control abandono intenci?n de apontaje en V1 y aterrizo en Da Nang 10.40? S/N.

Un soldado estadounidense herido no puede creer lo que ve su
?nico ojo...los dos B-25C que se supon?a deb?an evacuarlos explotan
uno tras otro.

"Patrulla mar?tima": (1) - El TN Flak impacta con una bomba de 500 lbs en
un pesquero enemigo armado con AAA. El ?ltimo proyectil disparado por la nave
estalla a pocos metros del Corsario 01. Abajo, una de las bombas erra el blanco y
se pierde "haciendo patito". (2) y (3) - El TC Balker impacta con cohetes en una
patrullera enemiga y la hunde.


(1) - El CF Bufalo se aproxima a la pista en AZ 22.
(2) - El ala derecha toca tierra y el B-25C se convierte
en una bola de fuego.


"As? nacen los h?roes": (1) - Artilleros estadounidenses observan al GU Oni aproximando bajo fuego de armas ligeras.
(2) - A las armas ligeras se le suman los cohetes de la artiller?a. (3) - ...sobran palabras... (4) - Segundos antes de la tragedia...
(5) - Seg?n las m?s altas tradiciones de la ARMADA, el GU Oni cae en combate.


(1) - El GUCOM Chacal observa aterrado como ante sus ojos
explota el B-25C del GU Oni. (2) - El GUCOM Chacal pasea de la mano
de la Parca mientras lo rodea el fuego cruzado de calibre 50. De fondo,
el terrible bombardeo a la posici?n de AZ 22.


(1) - El GU Mano sobrevuela el HQ de AZ 22 mientras es "criminalmente machacado"
por la artiller?a roja. (2) - El GU Mano dispara sus cohetes sobre una supuesta posici?n
norvietnamita. (3) - El TF Buitre calma los ?nimos de los simios con un poco de napalm.

Lo mas lindo es que yo las veia venir, pero no podia frenar tan de golpe por que la trompa se me venia abajo y tratar de despegar tampoco por que no tenia terreno... cronica de una muerte anunciada.
